Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 7 April 2025
These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Grael ("we", "us", "our") and any person or organisation ("you", "client") who engages our interior design services or uses our website at graeljf.live. By booking a service or submitting a contact request, you agree to these terms.
1. About Grael
Grael is an interior design studio operating from 26 Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Brickfields, 50470 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We offer design consultation, spatial planning, and project coordination services as described on our website.
2. Services Offered
We currently offer three service tiers:
- Sketch Session (MYR 420) — A one-week creative consultation that includes a site visit, layout sketches, and a curated reference collection.
- Draft-to-Design (MYR 3,100) — A comprehensive design package covering spatial plans, material selection, furniture curation, lighting, 3D renders, and two rounds of revisions. Timeline: 6–9 weeks.
- Studio-to-Site Management (MYR 1,650) — Ongoing coordination from design sign-off through construction, including procurement support, contractor liaison, and a final styling session. Duration: 8–14 weeks.
Service scope and deliverables will be confirmed in writing before work begins. We reserve the right to adjust scope by mutual agreement if the project evolves.
3. Quotations and Pricing
Published prices are our base rates and are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). Final pricing for a project may vary based on property size, complexity, or additional requirements discussed during the initial consultation. Any variation from base rates will be communicated clearly in a written proposal before work commences.
Prices are subject to change without prior notice for new enquiries, but will not change for services already agreed in writing.
4. Bookings and Deposits
A booking is considered confirmed once you have received a written service agreement from us and the agreed deposit has been received. Deposit requirements will be outlined in the service proposal. Deposits are non-refundable once design work has commenced, except where we are unable to fulfil the agreed scope.
5. Payment Terms
Payment schedules are set out in your individual service agreement. Overdue payments may result in a pause to active work until the outstanding balance is settled. We accept bank transfer and other methods as agreed at the time of engagement. All payments are in MYR.
6. Revisions and Changes
The Draft-to-Design service includes two rounds of revisions within the agreed scope. Additional revisions beyond this, or requests that substantially alter the original brief, may be subject to an additional fee. We will always discuss any cost implications with you before proceeding.
7. Timelines
Timelines are estimates based on typical project conditions. Delays caused by factors outside our control — including client response times, contractor schedules, material availability, or site access issues — may affect the stated duration. We will communicate any changes to your timeline as early as possible.
8. Client Responsibilities
To allow us to work effectively, we ask that you:
- Provide accurate information about your property, preferences, and budget at the outset
- Respond to design queries and feedback requests within a reasonable timeframe
- Arrange appropriate site access for any agreed visits
- Inform us of any changes in scope, plans, or preferences as early as possible
9. Intellectual Property
All design drawings, renders, concept boards, and documentation created by Grael remain our intellectual property until full payment has been received. Upon final settlement, you receive a licence to use the designs for the specific project they were created for. We retain the right to share completed work in our portfolio, unless you request otherwise in writing.
10. Cancellation
If you wish to cancel a project after signing the service agreement, please notify us in writing. Work completed up to the point of cancellation will be invoiced at a pro-rated rate. Deposits paid before work begins are non-refundable.
If Grael is unable to proceed with a project for reasons within our control, we will provide a fair refund for work not yet completed.
11. Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited to the value of the fees paid for the service in question. We are not liable for decisions made independently by contractors, suppliers, or third parties involved in your project, or for delays and costs arising from factors outside our reasonable control.
12. Third-Party Suppliers and Contractors
Where we assist with procurement or contractor coordination, we act in an advisory capacity. Contracts with suppliers and tradespeople remain between you and those parties directly. We make recommendations in good faith but cannot accept responsibility for third-party performance, warranty claims, or cost variations from external parties.
13. Privacy
We take your personal data seriously. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your information in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
14. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
15. Amendments
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The most current version will always be available on this page. Material changes will be communicated where reasonably practical.
